2018 Miken Technologies Year End Review
As the year winds down and we look back at some of the achievements that 2018 brought, it’s important to keep in mind that we would not have been able to accomplish any of it without your confidence and support in Miken Technologies.
Thank you for helping us make 2018 another successful year at Miken!!
We decided to highlight some of the cool things we did this year including bringing onboard some new faces, new certifications, the launch of a new online training course, and more.
Expansion / New Hires
To fulfill the growing need for new technology implementations, services, and support, Miken expanded in 2018 with the addition of new hires and promotions.
Miken rounded out it’s help desk technician roster with the addition of Ryan Gholston and Keith Muzik, and brought onboard James Palmer as a Network Engineer.
In addition to new hires, Miken promoted Jeremy Schmitt to Director of Engineering.
“Miken’s continued growth this year has been a testament to the level of dedication, value, and quality of services, solutions, and support we provide to our customers. The expansion in staff means we will be able to continue providing those same levels of service and capabilities that our customers experience when they have Miken as their IT partner,” said Michael J. Smith, PhD, CEO.
Miken Elevated to ‘Platinum Partner’ status with DocuWare
Miken Technologies achieved Platinum Partner status with DocuWare in 2018, as well as becoming a member of the Diamond Club, the highest possible achievement for Partners of DocuWare, a state-of-the-art electronic document management system.
The achievements further position Miken Technologies as one of the region’s premiere business information technology firms.
“Miken’s acceptance into the Diamond Club proves our commitment in delivering the best possible experience to our clients. Our growth in Electronic Workflow Management shows our ability to adapt to current modern challenges while still providing solutions that work best for our clients and their business goals,” stated Michael J. Smith, PhD, CEO.

Miken Technologies achieved certification to be a qualified facilitator of the Microsoft Immersion Experience program in 2018.
With Miken’s consistent growth of Microsoft Office 365 implementations, Microsoft tapped Miken to become a part of the program.
“This program has allowed Miken Technologies to help businesses explore ways to increase productivity and visibility of crucial key performance indicators in their business,” Jason Robison, Miken’s Chief Technology Architect, said.
The Microsoft Immersion Experience offers a hands-on environment where you can test-drive best-in-class technologies, including Microsoft Office 365, Microsoft SharePoint, Skype for Business, Windows-based devices and mobile solutions.
Miken Launches Online Digital Workflow Training Academy
In late 2018, Miken launched www.dwacademy.net, an online training academy, written and built entirely in-house that aims at assisting clients who are in the process of going paperless with DocuWare.
The website offers in-depth video lessons and tutorials covering a wide range of topics from the very basics of DocuWare for end-users as well as more advanced configurations and lessons for senior-level IT admins.
“We are very pleased to present a completely online training academy that functions as a value-added resource for our DocuWare clients,” stated Michael J. Smith. “The DW Training Academy has positioned Miken has one of the premiere experts in Electronic Document Management not just regionally, but globally as well.”
